UPTET 2019

UPTET 2019 (Paper 1 & 2)

The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) conducts the state-level test UPTET every year for the recruitment of Primary and Upper Primary Level teachers in various schools of Uttar Pradesh. The notification for the same is released in the month of July. Last exam, UPTET 2018 was given by approximately 17 lakh students and 5,54,931 qualified for same. UPTET was introduced in 2011 and 9 lakh candidates have qualified till UPTET 2018. Final job under UPTET has been provided to 1.5 lakh successful UPTET candidates. Aspirants who qualified in these exams became eligible for teaching jobs in thestate at Primary level (Class I to V) and Upper Primary level (Class VI to VIII). Candidates who belong to General category should secure 60% marks to qualify UPTET exam whereas candidates who belong to reserve category should secure 55% marks to qualify this exam.

UPTETExam Pattern and Syllabus

The candidate should go through each topic of UPTET syllabus thoroughly. There is no negative marking in the paper, the candidate is advised to attempt as many questions as possible.

The exam of UPTET consists of two papers:

UPTET Paper 1: Questions from Child Development, Learning & Pedagogy- CDP, 1st Language, 2ndLanguage, Mathematics and Environmental Studies are asked.

UPTET Paper 2: Candidate will have an option in the fourth subject between Mathematics/Science and Social Studies.

The exam will be scheduled for November 4, 2019 as expected in online (computer based test) mode. The recruitment exam is conducted for the post of Primary and Upper Primary Level teachers in various schools of Uttar Pradesh.

UPTET Syllabus 2019 for Paper 1

Paper I focuses on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to classes 1 to 5. Understanding the characteristics and needs of diverse learners, interaction with learners and the attributes and qualities of a good facilitator of learning are the topics in this paper.

UPTET Syllabus is based on the topics given in NCERT Books of class I-V. The section on Math and EVS evaluates a candidate on his facts, concepts, and understanding of the subject.

The Paper I mainly cover Teaching Methodology & Pedagogy, Languages (Hindi & English/Urdu/Sanskrit), Mathematics and Environmental Studies. This exam is for the candidates who are aspiring to be primary teachers.

UPTET Syllabus 2019 for Paper 2

Paper 2 of UPTET focuses on the educational psychology of teaching and learning relevant to classes 6 to 8.

Candidates who are interested in Math or Science have to choose OPTION A and candidates interested in Social Science should attempt OPTION B.

Language I and Language II cannot be same.

The standard of questions in paper II is according to the topics prescribed by NCERT in books of class VI-VIII.
